The program is approximately 2.5 days of study. It is recommended to enroll in consecutive dates, but is not necessary. Training dates will be scheduled according to individual needs and will be determined once tuition has been received.
The course material covers many aspects of laser and IPL and is unlike any other laser course. The material includes the physics of laser and IPL and the difference of each, as well as applications and indications in dermatology when treating skin disease and in cancer management. The material emphasizes physiology of ethnicity and covers the latest in regenerative medicine. The study concludes with laser and IPL safety that covers both the standard of care as well as the standard of practice written by a legal cosmetic laser expert.
The national standards of laser safety requirements and legal regulations are discussed which offers medical practitioners, nurses, and estheticians, the opportunity to meet the demand of practice owners who are looking for trained and qualified laser technicians. The material is ideal for practitioners who wish to enter the medical field, enhance laser services, pursue business opportunities, or for those who wish to implement and practice laser safety as a Medical Laser Safety Officer.
NOTE: Legally, practical training on aesthetic lasers and IPL should be given by the employer (hiring physician), a Medical Laser Safety Officer (MLSO), or Clinical Educator, and is not a requirement for instructional training or certification. ANZI Z136.3 "Safe Use of Lasers in Health Care".
